Description
Roscoe Greene of Augusta wrote to George W. Pierce of Baldwin, letting him know that various pieces of a political puzzle were falling in place that would make the Court Reporter position Pierce sought more available to him.
John Ruggles of Thomaston was appointed to a newly vacant U.S. Senate seat and, if former Gov. Samuel Smith were named to a Common Pleas judgeship, the pieces would be in place for Pierce's appointment to the reporter post.
