G.W. Pierce letter on selling assets, 1831

Description

George W. Pierce of Portland wrote to his brother Josiah Pierce of Gorham about an offer from Maine Manufacturing Co. of Saccarappa to purchase the Pierce water power, mills and lumber yard.

The Pierce brothers, both lawyers, jointly managed the estate of their father, Josiah Pierce of Baldwin, a business man. The elder Pierce died in January 1830.
