Description

A view showing a crew of men working at the base of a lime kiln owned by J. A. Creighton.

James A. Creighton, took over his father's shipbuilding business, which had been establilshed in 1869 by Charles Creighton. In the last of the 19th century, James ran a successful quarrying and lime burning buiness at the foot of Knox Street. Lyman Morse Boatbuilding Company now owns the property.
