Description

This sketch was created by Leslie Emerson for the New Portland Historical Society in 1992. Leslie recreated this image from a postcard that was printed in the early 1900s. The sketch shows the entrance to the wire bridge and underneath a smaller sketch of the entire bridge. The wire bridge was built in the mid 1800s.
