Main Street, Ripley, 1920

Description

Main Street in Ripley, a small agricultural town in Somerset County. The Union Church is at left and the general store at the right.

A young girl stands alone in the middle of the dirt road with no traffic in sight except for the automobile belonging to the Eastern Illustrating and Publishing Co. parked by the store.

Eastern Illustrating took images throughout Maine and New England for use on postcards.
