Description

Bert Dutil of Lewiston served as president of the American Snowshoe Union in 1961-62.

He belonged to the Club Passe-Temps and was a founder of the Pine Tree Warriors, a drum and bugle corps.

Snowshoe clubs were an important part of the Franco-American culture in Lewiston. They held three-day conventions every winter and served as year-round social and athletic clubs, with clubhouses, bands, and, often, baseball or bowling teams.
