Henry Wadsworth Longfellow telegram, 1882

Description

Several weeks before his death, poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow sent a telegram from his home in Cambridge, Massachusetts, to the Maine Historical Society to thank the members of the Society for the signal mark sent for his birthday, February 27, the date on the telegram.

He died on March 24, 1882.
