Hannah Pierce seeking tax funds from brother, 1848

Description

Hannah Pierce (1788-1873) of Baldwin wrote to her brother Josiah Pierce of Gorham asking him to pay a Mr. McLellan money she owed him for working her highway tax.

Hannah Pierce, who never married, lived on the family homestead. Josiah Pierce was a lawyer and judge.
