Description
Hannah Pierce (1788-1873) writes from Baldwin to her brother Josiah (1792-1866) in Bridgton, telling him she is happy because he is continuing his studies there.
She had been concerned he had gone to Portland, apparently fearing he would join the service. She alludes to the War of 1812 without mentioning it specifically.
She also comments that she has agreed to teach school again for six weeks to two months, even though, she writes, "I am fairly sick of Pedagoguing."
