Description

John P. Thomas, an architect in Portland, drew plans for a temporary hospital for the Passamaquoddy Bay Tidal Power Development in Eastport in 1935.

The huge energy-generating project, funded by the Federal Emergency Administration of Public Works during the Depression, was never completed because additional funding was not allocated.

One year's worth of work was done at a cost of $7 million.
