A New Brunswick woman, Mrs. G.H. Ball, wrote to the Maine State Sanatorium in Hebron in 1909 seeking admittance to the facility to treat tuberculosis in her left lung.
She reported that she had been trying home treatment but had been unsuccessful. She had previously been in a sanatorium in Rhode Island.
