Description

The Leigh Chamberlin Memorial building at the privately operated Maine State Sanatorium in Hebron. The administration building for the tuberculosis sanatorium was completed in August 1906.

Located in the building were the dining room and medical facilities.

The postcard is dated April 6, 1911 and is addressed to Mrs. Lena Bourque, 174 Water St., Waterville.

The message reads: "Dear Lena I thought I would write you a few lines to let you know how I am Well, I thought I would telephone you but I could not tell your voice. I had not heard from Edmond for so long that I was worried hope to be with you all for Easter tell Edmond to write often How are you all I suppose that you did not know my voice and you thought I was sick but I am well and can walk one mile a day from Mary Give my love to all."
