This photograph depicts a bulletin advertising the opportunities offered by the National Civil Defense Program in Maine.
The civil defense program offered citizens to participate through community outreach, auxiliary women's activities, and educational programs such as volunteer recruitment, recognition ceremonies, meetings and classroom lectures.
This photograph was taken in September,1955.
