Description

C.R. Goodell drew this map of Evergreen Cemetery in Portland using a photograph by Marquis Fayette King that was published by John Russell.

Pine Grove Cemetery is included in the confines of the larger Evergreen Cemetery.

Marquis Fayette King was an amateur photographer and served as president of the Maine Genealogical Society for 15 years.

The cemetery, established in 1855, is the largest cemetery in Maine and included in the National Registry of Historic Places.
