Description
Hermon School Number 8, the Leather's Corner School (also called the Longfellow or Wing Road School), was built on the corner of Wing and Fuller Roads, prior to 1897. The one-room school was in use until 1951, later made into a home and is still lived in.
It is one of the 14 original 1st-8th grade schools, each of which was supported by its own district of what is now the town of Hermon. The early schoolhouses were replaced in 1951 by the new Hermon Elementary School building.
