Description
Cyprian Southack (1662-1745), a sailor and captain, participated in several raids along the Maine coast in service of the Massachusetts colony. Here he reports on the number of Indians he has seen, various colonial boats and their status, and other information about the area. The letter is addressed to Joseph Dudley, captain general and governor in chief of Massachusetts Bay colony.
