Warning of possible Indian attack, 1743

William Shirley, the British governor of Massachusetts, wrote to William Pepperrell of Kittery, warning of French-British hostilities that could result in an Indian attack in Maine. Pepperrell forwarded the letter to military officials in Berwick.
