Description

The Cape Steam Power Generating Station at Knightsville in South Portland, part of Central Maine Power Co.

It was built in 1921 on the site of the old Portland Dry Dock. It produced its first power November 20, 1922 through cables to substations at Plum Street, Forest Avenue and Sewell Street in Portland.
