Description

Sea captain John Dillingham wrote from Port au Prince, Haiti, to his wife, Margaret, in Freeport.

He mentions an uprising in the city related to dissatisfaction with the country's president. The disturbance was stopped by the day he arrived, but noted the "loss of quite a number."
