Mary Ann Torrey of Portland married Hermann Kotzschmar, her piano teacher, on Dec. 16, 1872.
Hermann Kotzschmar was a noted musician in Portland.
The couple had two children, Hermann Jr. (1874-1945) and Dorothea (1878-1931).
