Old City Hall, Portland, ca. 1888

Description

The old Portland City Hall is seen at the center of the photo in about 1888. It was located in what was then Market Square.

A new City Hall was built farther East on Congress Street, at the head of Exchange Street, in 1860. The old building was torn down in 1888.
