Wire stove top toaster, Littleton, ca. 1920

Contributed by Southern Aroostook Agricultural Museum

Description

Used for toasting bread on a cast iron stove top. The bread was held for toasting between the two arms. The wavy shape of the wire kept the bread off the surface of the stove to reduce burning. When the bread was toasted on one side it was turned over for the second side.
