Susan H. (Dennison) Dillingham, living in Portland, writes a long letter to her sister Margaret in Freeport.
While most of the letter is taken up with issues of family, health, child-rearing, and household help, she mentions her husband being at sea too long and of a brother enlisting in the Union Army.
