Description

Laura Matilda Gay Davis of Pittston (1800-1834) was the granddaughter of General Henry Dearborn, the Secretary of War under Thomas Jefferson. She accompanied him to Europe from 1822-1824.

She married John Braser Davis in 1826.

The silhouette is similar in style to those made by itinerant artist William H. Brown.
