Tuttle Farm, Freeport, 1947

Description

The farm created by John Tuttle in 1800 originally was in Pownal, but he moved it across the town line to Freeport. Trees were cut off the land, grazing sheep destroyed grasses, and the light soil was taken over by blowing and drifting sand.
