Description
The small lapel pin bears the photo of noted Maine politician Thomas Brackett Reed, who served as Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives and instituted "Reed's Rule" that prohibited silence during roll calls to leave the House without a quorum and thereby block business being conducted.
The pin advertises the Reed cigar, promoted by Cook, Everett & Pennell, wholesale druggists of Portland.
