Guessing booth sign, Old Orchard Beach, ca. 1980s

Contributed by Maine Historical Society

This sign invited visitors to Old Orchard Beach to have "Dave the Guesser" Glovsky guess their occupations. Glovsky's guessing booth was a popular attraction from 1945 to the 1990s.

This sign reads, "Show Me/Your Hand/I'll Guess your/Occupation/A Prize if I Fail."

The sign is duplicated in French on the opposite side, reading, "Montrez moi/votremain/Je devinerai votre/occupation/un prix si je me trompe."
