Portrait drawing of Harriet Beecher Stowe.
Stowe lived with her family in Brunswick from 1850 to 1852 while her husband Calvin taught at Bowdoin College. While living in Brunswick, Stowe wrote her famous novel Uncle Tom's Cabin.
