Description

Miniature postcard of the Harriet Beecher Stowe House. The Stowe family rented this home while living in Brunswick, Maine: 1850-1852. Harriet Beecher Stowe (1811 - 1896) wrote her famous novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" in this house. The novel first appeared as a magazine serial in ten installments, later to be published in book form. The Stowe house is located at 63 Federal Street in Brunswick.
