Description
Forged iron and steel.
Information wanted on the working dates of the Ricker blacksmith shop in Cherryfield, one of whose shops still stands today.
Size: 10 5/8" long, 1/2" wide blade.
Markings: "G.B. RICKER" and on opposite side there is the mark "B.G.F.".
A chisel is a hand tool with a straight cutting edge at the end of a blade. It is used to cut, pare or separate solid material such as metal or wood. Used by striking or by applying pressure to the end of the tool. Chisels for woodworking have been used since neolithic times.
