Description

The wall separating the Longfellow Garden on Congress Street in Portland from adjoining tenement buildings on Brown Street is shown in a hand-painted lantern slide.

Gladys Pratt of the American Museum of Natural History in New York painted a number of lantern slides of the garden that the Longfellow Garden Club used when it gave presentations about the Wadsworth-Longfellow House and garden.
