Contributed by Brick Store Museum

Description

These dresses are pictured at "Godey's Ladies: An Exhibition of 19th-Century Dresses" held in 1997 at the Brick Store Museum.

Godey's Lady's Book, from which this exhibition was named, was one of the most popular magazines of the 19th century. It included poetry, engravings and articles of import.

The child's dress is a brown cotton print from about the 1840s, on loan from the Pejepscot Historical Society.
