Katahdin from Golden Road, 1987
The photo shows Katahdin from the Golden Road, a private road that was built by the Great Northern Paper Company for its logging operations, which stretches from Millinocket west to the Quebec border. In part, it follows the West Branch of the Penobscot River and the southern border of Baxter State Park.
