Jean Bayley letter to son, July 12, 1781

Jean Bayley, a widow from Falmouth, wrote to her son William in the Continental Army to find out why she had not heard from him and why he did not return to Falmouth before the winter of 1780-81. She told him all her sons were away at sea and no one was at home to take care of the farm.
