Description

Born in 1891, Dorothy Stanley Emmons was the daughter of Chansonetta Stanley Emmons, a well-known photographer of the early 20th century. Both mother and daughter visited the Farmington Fair in 1932 to take photographs. Dorothy and Chansonetta also traveled together throughout New England giving slide shows of their photographs and giving lectures.

In the hand colored image, a weight sled is hitched, as men wait for a pulling contest to begin.
