Description
A wide panoramic shot of U.S. Army camps at Laredo, Texas. The camp from Maine is stationed on the left, with New Hampshire on the right.
Camps were stationed in Laredo prior to the U.S.'s entry into World War I. The men were responsible for Mexican Border Guard, due to the attack by Mexican revolutionary Francisco "Pancho" Villa on Columbus, New Mexico in 1916. The Mexican Revolution had been ongoing since 1910, but the U.S. military did not intervene until Mexico's controversy became a threat to the citizens of the southwest region of the United States.
