Model of "United States," Wiscasset, ca. 1844

Description

The hull of this fully rigged model of the United States is carved from one piece of wood. The vessel was built in Wiscasset.

On the stern, the name board is carved and decorated and inscribed with the words "United States...Wiscasset." On the port barge board is painted "54 40."
